Bio: Zarrin has been working as an outdoor guide for about ten years. He has been following a spiritual path in life. Originally from Pittsburgh, he first went outdoor climbing at the age of 14. After high school, he lived and worked on organic farms in Vermont for four years before completing a Bachelor's degree in outdoor recreation from Paul Smith's College in upstate NY. Upon graduating, he moved west. In Colorado and Teton Valley, Idaho he explored backcountry skiing and splitboarding and continued to develop his rock climbing skills and guiding interests. Now, having lived in Joshua Tree since 2019, crack climbing and rock climbing guiding are significant interests, along with sightseeing and hiking tour guiding in the National Park here, and doing astronomy outreach/tours with a collection of fine telescopes. While perhaps not an in-depth expert in any particular field of knowledge, Zarrin feels he has broad knowledge and experience in a diverse array of subjects: history, spirituality, and cosmology; ecology, farming, and biology; outdoor sports and education, nature interpretation, and outdoor guiding; geology, humor, and silliness.... Ask me about my favorite rock joke!
